Civil Works Coordinator

Context & Job description

The Buildings & Infrastructure Group develops and upgrades the existing buildings and facilities, defines technical strategies in terms of site evolution for buildings and infrastructure, provides qualified analysis and diagnosis to facilitate the implementation of optimum solutions, and shares its expertise with all stakeholders for new projects.

As member of the Buildings and Infrastructure Group, you will participate in projects for the construction, modernization, renovation and refurbishment of beamlines, laboratories, and premises, mainly for finishing works (partitions, painting…). You will then assist heads of project and engineers of the construction unit for works coordination and you will be under the responsibility of the Construction Unit leader.

You will be in charge of:

  • Execution of civil engineering (follow up of construction works and acceptance of buildings).
  • In particular, supervising finishing works: painting, false-ceiling, flooring, false-floor, partitions, buildings and roads signage.
  • Liaise with all Building and Infrastructure group members to coordinate specific technical aspects of renovation/refurbishment works
  • Writing minutes and report of works follow up and final acceptance report.
  • Planning follow-up

Expected profile

  • Technician degree (A-Level, BTEC, Baccalaureate, Bachillerato, Abitur, Fachabitur, Maturita or equivalent, and/or HND) in the fields of Works and/or Building works Minimum 5-8 year-professional experience in Building field
  • Technical skills in building works and assistance to management of project.
  • Good knowledge of AutoDesk and Solidworks software would be an asset
  • Soft skills: team spirit, reactivity, adaptability, autonomy, diplomacy, service-mind
  • Basic proficiency in English (working language at the ESRF)
