Finance and Accounting Officer

Context & Job description

The Finance Service is in charge of the overall management of budget, accounts, assets, stores and treasury at the ESRF.

Under the supervision of the Head of the General Accounting Unit, within the Finance Service, your main missions will be the following:

  • After an initial adaptation and transfer of knowledge period where you will work in close contact with the Head of Finance and the Head of Accounting, you will mainly participate in the management of the ESRF accounts, in accordance with the procedures required by the French Plan Comptable Général, within the framework of the Fourth European Directive on accounting standards.

You will also:

  • Contribute to the establishment of the detailed closing of accounts and ensures the observance of accounting and tax regulations.
  • Provide accounting information of all kinds at the request of the Head of Unit
  • Support the Head of the General Accounting Unit to the preparation of the Administrative and Finances Committee's documents referring to general accounting and tax matters.
  • Replace the Head of the General Accounting Unit in case of absence for the organisation and the day-to-day operation of the "General Accounting Unit”.

Expected profile

  • Higher university degree (Master or equivalent 300 ECTS diploma) in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • You have a first successful experience in team management
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with different people, organization and rigor
  • Proficiency in English (working language at the ESRF)
