Your tasks will be:

  • Design and improvement of the embedded system used to control the power converter of the group:
    • Modelling and simulation of power converters with PLECS / MATLAB Simulink and design of their control laws (current / voltage regulation, etc…)
    • Implementation of real-time control algorithms on DSP / FPGA targets: design of the control system architecture, writing of the software specification, coding and debugging of the program.
    • Validation tests and tuning of the regulators on the power converter on a test bench and then in its final environment.
  • Maintenance and operation of the group’s equipment
    • Continuous improvement of equipment reliability: analysis of root cause of failures, proposal of design modifications (hardware/software).
    • Preventive maintenance activities during accelerator shutdown periods: inspection, modification and functional testing of equipment.
    • Standby and on-call duties:  on-site intervention day and night to troubleshoot equipment failures, remote technical support to the Accelerator Operation Group. Total of seven one-week standby duties per year.
