- Post-doctoral Fellow for the ID32 soft X-ray Beamline
You will participate in ongoing in-house research programs, the running of the beamline and providing support to external users as a local contact. You will also be encouraged to develop your own research projects, which should exploit the unique capabilities of the ID32 beamline.
ID32 is a soft X-ray (400-1600eV) beamline with a scientific focus in the areas of electronic structure and magnetism. The beamline has two branches; one has been optimized for experiments using very high energy resolution soft X-ray resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS), with a state-of-the-art spectrometer and the other branch for soft X-ray absorption dichroism studies (e.g. X-ray Magnetic Circular dichroism (XMCD)) with a 9T superconducting high field magnet and surface science sample preparation facilities. Candidates interested in either, or both, of the ID32 branches are encouraged to apply.
