Personnel Safety System / Electrical Safety Engineer

Context & Job description

The Personnel Safety System (PSS) / Electrical Safety Engineer will work under the supervision of the Head of Safety Group. Her/his main tasks will be the following:

  • Overall management of the personnel safety systems for the accelerators and beamlines and of the laser safety systems. This includes defining the logic of new systems and of systems that need to be modified, organising the legally mandatory regular testing of the systems and organising the maintenance work.
  • Assume the electrical safety follow up of all equipment used in the different laboratories and on the beamlines, including the verification of electrical equipment brought to the ESRF by users.
  • Supervise the Personnel Safety System technician.

Expected profile

  • Higher university Degree (Master or equivalent diploma offering 300 ECTS) in Electrical Engineering / Automation
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Good knowledge of French and European legislation in the field of Personnel Safety System and Electrical Safety
  • Excellent command, both written and spoken, of the English and French languages
  • Excellent communication skills and team spirit
  • Good managerial skills
  • Well-organised, reliable and committed
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to set priorities
  • Sense of confidentiality and discretion

Working conditions

Permanent contract.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
