Scientist in Coherent X-Ray Microscopy

Context & Job description

You will develop and implement image reconstruction methods for coherent 3D X-ray microscopy to overcome current frontiers of spatial resolution and contrast. You will focus in particular on developing precise phase reconstruction approaches in X-ray holography and near-field ptychography.
This position is part of the ERC Brilliance project, aiming to resolve and analyse neural circuits in meaningful brain tissue volumes. Addressing this global challenge is essential to advance knowledge on fundamental principles of brain function, to cope with neurological disorders and to develop the next generation neuromorphic computing architectures.
You will join a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary research group and you will work closely with members of the nano-imaging beamline, ID16A. You will have access to world leading technology and instrumentation for hard X-ray synchrotron nano-imaging.

Please include in your application a short statement (max 100 words) on your motivation to take this position.
