- Technician for the Chemistry Laboratory
The Chemistry Laboratory provides the platform and expertise to perform sample manipulation/sample preparation & characterisation required for experimental work in the field of chemistry and materials science at the ESRF.
The facilities comprise fully equipped, state-of-the-art multipurpose chemical laboratories. Moreover, there is a glove-box, specific equipment for handling air- and moisture-sensitive reagents as well as analytical instrumentation.
As chemistry laboratory technician, you will assist and help users and staff to benefit from a state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure appropriate for carrying out all activities related to invited user experiments and in-house research projects. You will provide hands-on support, guidance and supervision in matters relating to chemistry.You will participate in specific projects assigned to the laboratory.

You should hold a Technical/Academic degree (BTS, DUT, Bachelor or equivalent diploma worth at least 120 ECTS) with theoretical knowledge & hands-on experience in preparative chemistry and analytical instrumentation.
Autonomy, trouble-shooting and improvisation skills, communication skills
Your English level enables you to respond to the demands of a large international & multidisciplinary user community,
Your are capable of coping with competing demands, and a good organiser.
Temporary contract of 5 months, in the frame of a replacement for maternity leave.
The contract should start in April 2024.
The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
