- PhD Thesis Student (f/m) on ID30B in the Structural Biology group
Subject: Probing protein dynamics by single-crystal room temperature, or high-pressure cryogenic, crystallography and in crystallo optical spectroscopy
You will join the Structural Biology Group to pursue a project aimed to propose a new paradigm in macromolecular crystallography (MX) by focusing on room temperature data collection and embracing complementary biophysical approaches. Single-crystal room temperature MX has the potential to probe proteins dynamics, benefitting from the use of complementary techniques (e.g., optical spectroscopy, high-pressure) directly used on crystalline samples. This integrated project, combining MX, in crystallo optical spectroscopy (icOS) and high-pressure MX (HPMX), will study several fluorescent proteins in order to provide a comprehensive picture of their dynamics to help tune their properties.
