Administrative assistant in the Business Development Office

Context & Job description

You will join the Business Development Office (BDO) to participate in the ESRF’s active programme of commercial and European grant support activities and outreach. The BDO acts as a central contact for several European projects which ESRF is currently co-ordinating and we anticipate involvement in further projects. The BDO aims to enhance support to ESRF European projects providing advice and concrete support. Within this, project dissemination and visibility are central to the success of proposals and funded project with a critical role in assuring stakeholder and target community engagement.

  • You will assist in the tasks outlined above, with the following missions:
  • Provide daily functional and operational support to ESRF marketing and outreach activities, including assistance with events and visits, and meetings.
  • Provide support to the organisation of outreach activities comprised within ESRF and EU supported projects.
  • Provide marketing support to the ESRF commercial programme as operated by the BDO and Experiments Division scientific outreach.

Expected profile

  • You should hold a EQF level 5 in Business and Administration or an equivalent secretarial/assistant diploma (NVQ level 4, BAC +3 or equivalent higher education diploma).
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English and communication skills enabling you to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Sound computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets and slide presentations, web page creation and updating).
  • Good communication skills enabling you to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Well organized, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, taking responsibility.

Working conditions

4 months mission, potentially renewable.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
