Purchasing Assistant

Context & Job description

As part of a team of 10 and reporting to the Head of the Procurement and Contracts Service, you will handle both administrative and technical tasks related to procurement activities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Processing purchase requests
  • Entering and maintaining supplier data
  • Preparing and following up on quotation requests for indirect purchases
  • Negotiating commercial terms with suppliers for low-value orders
  • Processing and tracking purchase orders
  • Providing support to engineers and technicians throughout the procurement process

Expected profile

Qualifications and Education

  • Technical degree (BSc, Licence, HND, HNC, BTS, DUT, Bachelor, Meister, Vordiplom, Perito, Laurea Triennale, Diplomatura, Ingenieria Técnica or equivalent) in purchasing, international business, or business administration.

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in English (the working language at the ESRF).

Soft Skills

  • Well-organised, versatile, and rigorous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.

Working conditions

Temporary contract of 18 months.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
