HVAC Fluids and Liquid Nitrogen Networks Technician

Context & Job description

The Buildings & Infrastructure Group is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of the ESRF site and technical infrastructure.

Within this group, the HVAC team manages numerous handling units, chillers, and nitrogen networks. The team works closely with users to specify, design, install, operate, and maintain HVAC and fluid equipment. 

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to contribute to projects and daily activities involving the construction, modernisation and renovation of the infrastructures, as well as maintenance follow-up and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow-up of fluids, liquid nitrogen (LN2) networks and HVAC systems including design, installation works and maintenance.
  • Draft technical specifications and perform project cost estimations.
  • Supervision of contractors.
  • Carry out recurrent maintenance tasks.
  • Operate and maintain the nitrogen cryogenic network (including lock out procedures, commissioning, start-up, daily follow-up, maintenance and operation).
  • Update technical documents and maintain the Computer-Assisted Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database.

Expected profile

Technical degree in HVAC and Fluids or a related field (BTS, DUT, Licence Professionnelle, Bachelor, or equivalent).

Technical skills:

  • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience
  • Experience in operating and maintaining technical installations.
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids piping and equipment.
  • Proficiency with fluid and air treatment equipment, including instrumentation.

Soft skills:

  • Proficiency in both French and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong teamwork and integration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

Working conditions

Permanent contract.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
