Assistant to the Director of Research for Life Sciences

Context & Job description

As the Assistant to the Director of Research for Life Sciences, working closely with the Assistant to the Director for Physical Sciences, and in addition to day-to-day administrative duties, your main responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, drafting, and formatting correspondence and reports;
  • Managing the Director’s diary and organising business travel;
  • Coordinating activities with the Personal Assistant to the Director for Physical Sciences, in a spirit of collaboration and mutual support, including providing cover during your colleague’s absence;
  • Organising meetings and handling the related logistics;
  • Welcoming and assisting visitors.

Expected profile

Qualifications and technical skills

  • Higher secondary education diploma (BTS, HNC, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent worth 180 ECTS)
  • Proven experience as an assistant, preferably in an international environment
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, and good working knowledge of French
  • Strong proficiency in administrative tools and office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Interpersonal and behavioral skills

  • High sense of confidentiality and discretion
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and show initiative when needed
  • Reliability, accuracy, and professional integrity
  • Team-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive team spirit

Working conditions

Temporary contract of 4 months.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
