Electrical Technician F/M

Context & Job description

The Buildings & Infrastructure Group oversees the operation, maintenance, and development of the ESRF site and its technical infrastructure. This includes managing construction projects, HVAC systems, fluids and networks electrical distribution. Within the B&I Group the Electrical Unit manages the electrical infrastructure of the ESRF site.

As a technician in the Electrical Unit, you will:

  • Be in charge of HV/LV and low current networks from initial specifications through to final installation. 
  • Be in charge of commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring compliance with all technical specifications.
  • Oversee site work contracts (eg. cabling contract).
  • Carry out studies and technical specifications for procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Oversee and coordinate contractor interventions including site access, work permits and on-site supervision.
  • Elaborate and update electrical diagrams and related documents.
  • Fulfill standby duties to support continuous operations.

Expected profile

·        Degree in electrotechnics engineering (in French: BAC PRO, BUT, BTS, Licence Pro,…).

·        Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in electrical power distribution (HV and LV), lighting and communication cabling in an industrial environment.

·        Mandatory knowledge of European and French electrotechnical standards and safety regulations ion (NFC15-100, NFC 18-510…). 

·        Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

·       Excellent communication, ability to work in/with multi-disciplinary teams, availability, autonomy.

·        Fluent in written and spoken French (C2).

·        Basic English (A1).

Working conditions

The salary will be calculated based on relevant qualifications and professional experience.
