Windows Technician F/M

Context & Job description

The IT Services Group (ITS) plays a pivotal role in supporting the European Synchrotron’s scientific mission by providing essential computing resources and services. We are seeking a skilled Windows technician to join our dynamic IT team and contribute to the efficient operation of our Windows Infrastructure.

As part of the Windows Unit, you will play an important role in managing various systems-related tasks, including Active Directory, office equipment, multimedia solutions and stores procurement. Working closely in a team of five, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our Windows systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Management of Windows computers.
  • Provide maintenance and user support for Windows PCs (including beamlines and laboratories PCs) as well as printers/scanners.
  • Contribute to Active Directory management tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends to improve services.
  • Maintain and provide expert user support for multimedia solutions.
  • Manage the set of ESRF Windows personal computers.
  • Suppliers' follow-up.

Expected profile

  •  Technical degree (BSc, Licence, HND, HNC, BTS, DUT, Bachelor, Meister, Vordiplom, Perito, Laurea Triennale, Diplomatura, lngenieria Tecnica or equivalent worth at least 120 ECTS) in Computing or any other relevant domain.
  •  In-depth knowledge of Windows technologies (Workstation and Servers).
  • Two years minimum experience with Windows.
  • Excellent communication skills and service-oriented mindset.
  •  Team spirit and reactivity.
  • Analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (working language).

Working conditions

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
